CJ is a college freshman, who spends her Friday nights drinking a steaming cup of tea at a local poetry slam. When she isn’t out and about, she is probably reading from the small arsenal of books she has stacked on her desk. CJ is a college freshman, who spends her Friday nights drinking a steaming cup of tea at a local poetry slam. She’s hosted a few of her own open mics in the past and plans on competing in slams more frequently this coming year. She carries books around in her purse and plays board games on Sundays. When she isn’t out and about, she is probably reading from the small arsenal of books she has stacked on her desk. CJ’s goal for her writing is to diversify her stories and to write unique characters. Her favorite genre to write in is fantasy and is always plotting new fictional worlds to write about. She wants write stories that include the LGBTQIA+ community and hopes that eventually, LGBTQIA+ characters can be easily found in all kinds of genres, instead of just in one section of the bookstore that’s labeled “Gay/Lesbian.” She knows the impact positive representation can make and hopes that her someone will be happy to read her stories and relate to the characters.
