From War To Forever is a compelling and emotional romance by Andria Large that will pull on your heartstrings. It's emotionally charged, full of horrific times, and very eye-opening.

Dennis and Tucker are two ex-marines who meet in the hospital and are now roommates. They are brought together by friendship and need. Dennis is now living as a bouncer, after losing his wife and his leg in the war, two things that cause him a lot of suffering. Tucker is now working in IT after losing his best friend and his hearing in the war, the pain of which is excruciating.

Dennis is a mere shell of the man he used to be. His soul is empty and his eyes are lifeless. Only Tucker can bring him back to life, as he knows the pain on a personal level.

The Alzheimer story is well written, with a whole lot of knowledge, love and compassion. It's written in great detail and causes so much pain that's it had me wanting to cry many times.

My favorite parts are the romantic love scenes. As both men are exploring gay sex for the first time, these scenes are tender, and passionate. I love that their deep love on a friendship level leads to more. These men are brought together in a natural manner, and decide to go with their budding feelings. Their love for each other is there long before their attractions start.

My favorite sentiment is that there's beauty in finding someone who loves you when you can't even love yourself. So true.

Dennis and Tucker are survivors, who endure a long, hard-fought road to find their happily ever after. They have a complicated journey on which they find peace and love. They have to deal with a sick mother, a homophobic brother, and more, in addition to their own issues with each other.

From War To Forever is a tale of learning how to find your own happiness, as you can't depend on someone else to make you happy. It's a complex and steamy Gay For You romance. Not only do Dennis and Tucker find a second chance at love, they also get a second chance at life. I absolutely love this book!

OMG!!!! Andria Large is a great story teller... I do not write reviews but I could not resist...Bravo, Bravo, Bravo!!!!!

I read the initial books as they released individually to form a three book serial, and I thoroughly enjoyed them. From War to Forever is a beautifully reworked single title inclusive of all of those previous three, and as much as I liked them individually, I love them as a single!

The main characters both have PTSD and nightmares are common. They are written realistically with the challenges that war veterans face daily, and this book offers a look into the depths of what these characters live with as well as a peek around the edges of what actual war veterans experience.

The plot remains the same, but the elements are slightly tweaked and the result is that the overall flow is smoother. It is also more engaging, pulling you deeper and deeper until you just can’t put the book down. Also, rather than stopping the book once the men start their relationship and just providing a happily ever after, this book drops into the minutiae that make up how to stay together and how to be stronger through communication. It’s a much more in-depth look into the lives of Dennis and Tucker. There is drama, sadness, hurt, and loss, but there is also friendship, brotherhood, happiness, healing, and love. There is also quite a bit of angst, but since I love angst, this only made me a happier reader.

There are peripheral characters who will grab your heart, infuriate you, and run you through the full gamut in between. Unlike most books, this one also delves into the depths of two dysfunctional families which creates a much more realistic premise of life. The author has carefully and skillfully crafted a work that will hold your attention from page one and leave you cheering Dennis and Tucker on through the very end. This is a four and a half star book, and I highly recommend it!

This is book 1 - 3 of the series, so I didn't read the series partly. It's good because I read some reader ranting about book two.

You what they say about first time gay a.k.a GFY right? Either it's hot or wrong.
This one thankfully, is very hot with lot's of stories of pain between the two best friends.
For four years living together, they're finally found the comfort in each other's arms. Some questions made, some confusing and denials, but they're obviously been in love for each other for long just didn't realized it.
Losing someone you love in front of your eyes add some lifetime traumatized moment you can 'never' forget is huge. But Dennis have Tucker who's there for him in time of pain and hurt.
With an additional Duke (oh I liked this guy), they become one team outside the army.
The true conflict is between Dennis and Tucker. Some stupid decisions made, glad there's Duke as a buffer between them.
This is a story about acceptance, forgive yourself, guilt and redemption of the two men with PTSD.
they're struggled each and everyday of their life not to break, and hang on to each other for strength.
Sad, but there's also a lot of sexy times and loud moments ;) (Duke cannot stand them, of course).
I enjoyed this book, and I hope you'll like this as much as I did, or more!
