Mark Steven Lesney
Ex-scientist, science writer, editor, teacher, gay guy, atheist, now moving into the world of fiction. Or a fictional world. I am a cat person, because I prefer not being the center of anyone else's universe. My favorite genres are fantasy/science fiction; mystery; and history--preferably all at once. I'm an INTP for those who know or care. And a horrendous geek, obsessed with computer gaming. Hi, my name is Mark Lesney and I am the author of "The Golden Goose" in "Steamed Up," which, interestingly enough (at least to me) is my first published fiction in a long career of science and medical writing. Not for want of trying, of course. They say write what you know, but I am not sure how applicable that is in this case. Although I am a gay man, I am hardly a lithe cat burglar/thief from late 19th century London, and I have never had the good fortune to take up with a handsome young aristocrat who is also a brilliant inventor. I do, however, have a PhD in History of Science and a PhD in Botany and Plant Pathology, a sure indication that I tried to stay safely ensconced in academia for as long as they would let me. I read a lot. And I'm older than you'd likely marry, but younger than you'd likely bury.
