Layla M. Wier
Layla M. Wier lives on eleven rural acres north of Fairbanks, Alaska. In a state where winters dip to 50 below zero and summers yield 24 hours of daylight, there's lots of time to write! (And write, and write ...) Layla Lawlor, alias Layla M. Wier, has been writing since she was four years old -- first in longhand in loose-leaf binders, later on an old manual typewriter, and these days on the sleek little MacBook on which she's typing this bio. She grew up in rural Alaska in the 1980s, in a town so small that the mail came once a week -- by airplane! Today she and her husband live on eleven rural acres north of Fairbanks, Alaska in a former gold-mining district. Between the two of them, they possess a useful array of survival skills for the zombie apocalypse, including gardening, blacksmithing, and spinning wool into yarn (which led to Layla's first DSP novella, "Homespun"). A freelance graphic designer and illustrator by trade, she's never stopped pursuing her lifelong dream of being a writer, and she writes in a number of genres in addition to maintaining a regularly updating webcomic, Kismet - http://www.kismetcity.com.
