Kilby Blades

Kilby Blades is a forty-time award-winning author of Romance and Women’s Fiction. Her debut novel, Snapdragon, was a HOLT Medallion finalist, a Publishers Weekly BookLife Prize Semi-Finalist, and an IPPY Award medalist. Kilby was honored with an RSJ Emma Award for Best Debut Author in 2018, and has been lauded by critics for “easing feminism and equality into her novels” (IndieReader) and “writing characters who complement each other like a fine wine does a good meal” (Publishers Weekly).

During her fifteen-year career as a digital marketing executive, she moonlighted as a journalist for fun, freelancing as a food, wine, and travel writer and an entertainment columnist (and enjoying the related perks). She lived between Europe and New York for much of her twenties and has visited more than twenty-five countries. She still travels abroad at least two months a year, mostly to visit her happy place in South America—her getaway in the Andes Mountains.

On Fridays, Kilby goes to movie matinees alone, where she eats Chocolate Pocky and buttered popcorn and drinks blackberry mojitos because (hallelujah!) her local theater has a full bar. Every other day, she loves a good after-dinner walk and a mini-binge on Netflix. She is a feminist, a social-justice fighter, and above all else, a glutton for a good story.
