Possible examples: Ulysses makes mechanical flowers that bloom to try to catch the eye of the quiet, bookish man who lives next door. Shop owner Abe fell in love with inventor Adolph from afar, but what does he have to offer? Nobleman August holds himself above love until he meets commoner Charlie, a man he can’t have. Bart and Coleson want a family and adopt an orphan who has an uncommon talent.

Dreamspinner Press is seeking romantic short stories set in and involving end-of-the-year winter holidays: Advent, Boxing Day, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, New Year’s, Saint Nicholas’s Day, Solstice, Yule, and events of other cultures and nationalities. Romantic themes could include first dates, new love, reunions, and established relationships and ideally will focus on heartwarming situations/plots with happy endings.

Two doctors in separate departments of the same hospital keep running into each other in unlikely places. A physical therapist struggles against falling in love with his patient. Don’t forget dentists, optometrists, and the dermatologists who do laser tattoo removals. Two researchers collaborating on a medical advance start talking about more personal matters.

Short stories and novellas for single-book anthologies are purchased for a flat amount based on the length of the work.
 
Short stories and novellas included in the Daily Dose/Advent Calendar packages are purchased for a flat amount based on the length of the work. Daily Dose/Advent Calendar stories will also sell individually after the package release date (June 1 and Dec. 1). Novella-length stories earn 40% royalties and short stories earn 50% royalties.
 
Copyright remains with the author.
 
Author will receive a paperback copy of single-book anthology. Author will receive an electronic copy of individual work included in the Daily Dose/Advent Calendar package.

Dreamspinner Press is expanding cover art production. We are now accepting expressions of interest from experienced artists, specifically those with skills in drawn art as opposed to photo manipulation.

 

Dreamspinner publishes gay romance stories in lengths of 5,000 to 150,000+ words in a wide variety of genres, including fantasy/paranormal, mystery/suspense, science fiction, steampunk, and other specialty genres. Priority consideration will be given to artists with experience creating cover art for M/M fiction in these genres.
